This is an introductory course on probability theory, concepts, and problem solutions. No previous experience with probability is assumed.
Handouts will be posted on the course web page (Blackboard, Course Documents). These will be a rough guide to the lecture and will contain the text of some problems discussed in class. It will not contain the solutions. Your standing assignment is to read the material and identify difficulties that you want to have discussed further in lecture.

There will be weekly homework assignments. The maximal score for each assignment is 10 points. Two lowest homework grades will be disregarded for each student. Assignments will be collected in the beginning of the class. Solutions will be posted on the Blackboard. Virtually all of the problems in the text have answers given in the back of the book. Consequently, credit for homework problems will be given based on the argument for your solution that you give with the answer.
Homework assignments: 20%, first midterm: 20%, second midterm: 25%, final: 35%.
