Please ask the ETS to use either the departmental code 0702 or the university code 2548 to send your GRE score. TOEFL score can only be sent to the university code 2548. We DO NOT accept photocopy of either scores. The minimum score acceptable by the Graduate School for admission is 550 for paper based test, 213 for computer based test. For internet based test, the Graduate School requires 80 for general admission and 90 for financial aid with teaching assistantship (22 minimum for each category). Although TSE may be a helpful reference, it is not required for graduate admission. There is no minimum GRE requirement, we select top candidates with GRE scores as part of qualification. GRE subject tests are not required, but its inclusion may serve as a positive reference.

The minimum GPA required by the Graduate School is 3.0. Applicants with GPA below 3.0 may be considered for probational admission.

Applicants who have TOEFL score expired but have been awarded degree in a US college may be eligible to apply for TOEFL waiver from the Graduate School. The same may be applied to the GRE score.

The Graduate School cannot waive application fee to anyone except those applicants from Bangladesh. The current application fee is $60.

Deadlines:

(1) Financial aid is only offered in the fall admission and to students who apply for the Ph. D. program. If you apply for financial aid, please indicate your intention in the application form and have application completed before January 15. This deadline applies to both international and American students. No application of financial aid will be considered after this deadline. There is generally no financial aid for students admitted in the spring semester. Applicants can apply directly for the Ph. D. program with a BS degree, no master's degree is needed for the application. Applicant will be automatically considered for MS candidacy if he/she is not selected as Ph. D. candidate.

(2) For international students who apply for fall admission but do not apply for financial aid, the deadline of application is May 1. For international students who apply for spring admission, the deadline is October 1.

(3) For American students who apply for fall admission but do not apply for financial aid, we will accept your application until August 1. We will need special permission from the Graduate School if you pass this deadline.

(4) For American students who apply for spring admission but do not apply for financial aid, we accept your application until December 1. We will need special permission from the Graduate School if you pass this deadline.

We receive many applications each year, about a dozen of students will be awarded financial aid in the form of teaching assistantship. The exact number of financial aids varies from year to year and is subject to the financial situation of the department. Most of the student who are interested in quantitative finance are self-supported. The department has very limited financial resouce in this new area. The department puts emphasis on aiding research in mathematics and its scientific applications. There is no quota on admission and financial aid for international students.
